"It was fantastic! Honestly I cannot fault it, the only thing I’d suggest is a thin mattress topper so that you can’t feel the buttons on the mattress. Staff were lovely, everything in the room you could want. I appreciated the little bottle of semi skimmed milk in the fridge, and bottles of water!"

The breakfast buffet bar simply groaned with a huge range of cold food and drinks and there was a good menu for cooked alternatives. "Have to say I was super impressed with this inn. First off, the rooms aren’t big but they are comfortable and the bathrooms are big for England. The bed linens were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Would come back for those alone but really the best part of the entire stay was the staff. Specifically David and Anja. They were incredibly nice, amazingly friendly and super helpful. Some of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. Thanks to both of you. Great place to base a tour...

"The staff were friendly and the pub was so convenient for walks for the dogs and for places to eat. The dogs were comfortable and happy and we had everything we needed."

"The entire team at Swan Hotel was very friendly and engaged well with the guests. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Our superior room was large, clean and very comfortable. The hotel was an easy 30 minute walk to Jane Austen’s home and Chawton. Would highly recommend the Swan Hotel for a stay in Alton."
