St Andrew's Church, Little Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. St Andrew's Church, Little Berkhamsted. Although Little Berkhamsted can trace its past back to Saxon times and perhaps beyond, Little Berkhamsted’s greatest claim to fame is that it was here that William the Conqueror accepted the surrender of the City of London after the Battle of Hastings. At the time of the Domesday survey in 1086 the manor was held by Hardwin of Scales, and was rated as five hides (roughly 600 acres). A further two hides were held by Saemer, a priest; Leofeva, a widow held another two hides and Wulfric Warden held one hide, all alms of King Edward and his predecessors.

Good location however poor service.
We checked in late night, sadly they have no room for the type of room that I have paid. I paid for executive room and the manager said that they are overbooked hence, can only give me a standard room (thats the only room left for that day). Staff were all lovely , nothing too much trouble ! Great stay lovely hotel highly recommend and the welcome drinks were a nice touch as well enjoyed it very much

Beautiful layout. Very spacious. Only thing I must say is the bed was lopsided, the sheets kind of had a light pink stain and the pillows were super flat. Everything else was great!
