"If I could rate it a million stars, I would! This is the perfect, peaceful quiet Portuguese experience. We stayed here because it was close to the wedding venue we were attending. The staff were all so kind and helpful, the pool was the perfect cool temperature with plenty of lounge set for everyone, and the grounds were gorgeous. "A beautiful place high above the Douro river. Exceptionally helpful staff. The Spa are is included in the room price plus there is an outdoor pool area with a bar which was closed when we visited in Oct. The hotel offers a collection of activities from guided walks, boat trips live music and a variety of wine and port tastings. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including a wine pairing menu, everything was tasty and well presented. Breakfast was a buffet and included everything you would want however they aren’t geared up for tea drinkers lol. The only small negative is that the room wasn’t cleared of dirty cups or glasses but beds were made and towels changed. If you want to swim inside you must wear a swim cap which are available to buy."
