Amazing

Amazing, incredible amenities and comfortable bed. The hotel has so much character and we really enjoyed ourselves! Could've liked to have complementary water in the room, and not $13 dollar per bottle, but that was the only downside!

The property is understaffed and not secure. No one greets you in front of the hotel and rarely inside of it. On the second day of my 4-day stay, my humble request for fresh towels was never fulfilled. The few people working in the hotel are sincere and thoughtful but overextended and overwhelmed. This was my second stay. I will go back to the Chateau or Sunset Tower where the service is reliable.

Good location but hidden fees

My parents stayed here after losing their house in the Palisades fire because it was recommended by friends. The place is a bit dated and had a $500 hidden resort fee not mentioned until checkout. But the location and cookies were great.

Why would you stay anywhere else in Santa Monica? This is a slice of the Golden Age of Hollywood with all the trappings of the current - the staff are are as interesting and beautiful as the hotel - this is 5stars plus.

Great boutique hotel near the beach and downtown. Loved the stroll to Montana Avenue and the restaurants and shopping there! Great to get a free bike from the hotel and ride along the beach to Venice.

Perfect!

This hotel is such a gem...perfect location, quiet but so close to the beach and restaurants, shopping. The decor is so gorgeous and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. So many sweet little touches. We've stayed here three times and love it more each time we come! One of our favorite hotels!

The location is fabulous and they have bikes that you can use to ride around. Lovely old world feel to the property. We had a Studio King large room with kitchen and small balcony. Would stay again.

Most amazing stay! Luis is an incredible manager - every accommodation was made for us while we held meetings. We only stayed one night but will definitely become home away from home on all our trips to LA. Great little kitchen, and the place has such a great style about it - the lobby, the outside areas...

Lobby and grounds are beautiful but hotel is a little quirky. No liquor license if you want a drink at the hotel, and minimal staffing. Lots of character throughout - our room had a full kitchen, breakfast nook, walk-in closet and ante room for make-up/dressing.
