"The property is beautiful. Our room was lovely—very clean and comfortable. The seating in our room was perfect for reading, and the balcony an extra treat. Allen was so gracious and helpful. The location was great for dinner plans and a short easy drive to Churchill Downs. Breakfast was delicious—especially the biscuits and gravy. "There are NO STAFF ON SITE. I was on tour, which means we often check in after midnight, after a show. It terrified me to arrive at the hotel to find that I needed a security code to gain entrance, a code that was buried deep within several looooong messages from the hotel. At 3am, I am standing outside on an empty street, with no eye witnesses with thousands of dollars of gear, stressed because I couldn't find the check-in code. "The Galt Hotel was a lovely place to stay during our trip for a family event. I traveled with my child, and overall we had a great experience. Upon arrival, the valet area was a bit confusing. The staff seemed to wait for us rather than approaching the vehicle to assist with check-in, but perhaps that’s just how things are done there.
