"We had a terrible stay at the Westin on St. John. Unfortunately, this luxury hotel gave away our room even after I had called to confirm that we would be one day late due to airplane issues and we understood that we may have to pay for that night. When we arrived on St. John and went to the desk, we were told that we had been a no-show and they gave away our room. Luckily there was one studio left, but we had paid for a two bedroom. We never received the difference in the price of the room. On top of that there were erroneous holds placed on my credit card for very large amounts. The desk staff didn't know why those holds were being placed and could not tell me when they would be removed. By the end of our trip, I had several K worth of charges placed on my credit card. We checked in twice a day to ask about them and try to clear it up. The manager always seemed to be busy and did not respond to all of our calls. By the final day, we were able to talk to the manager, who still was unable to tell us why these charges were being placed on our account, but did write us a letter stating that we were not responsible for those charges. Unfortunately, that was my travel credit card and it caused issues for the rest of our trip because I had less to spend. We were given a small resort credit for the inconvenience. This was unacceptable but at that point we just needed to be done with them. Awful experience and they lost out on a potential client for time share. "
