We stayed on a Sunday night which meant the hotel and the area was quiet. The desk clerk was supremely helpful giving us restaurant options that were walkable - we chose Jamesport Brewing Company - up on deck, it was a beautiful summer night with a view of the water. The view out our windows - we had a corner room - was of the rooftop. . . Bath products were wonderful. a lovely old hotel - thanks for the coffee in the morning!
The property is expensive based on its condition. They do not accept good American cash which prompted us to look elsewhere for out extended stay. The location to town is the best feature.
This is an old hotel that shows its age. One rickety elevator and the whole hotel is very outdated. The best thing about it were the comfortable beds if you could find them due to almost nonexistent lighting.
The building is quaint and charming, but in desperate need of upgrades - old cracked paint on bathroom doors, stained ceilings, peeling finishes on bath tubs, etc.

The check in person was not friendly. I feel the room was to small, the floor was slanted by the bathroom and it through me off. The music Saturday night I could hear until late. I was told that the were the rooms were full and I don’t think they were.
Loved the traditional and historical feel of Stearnes Hotel. Felt a bit like going back in time. Comfortable and clean. Bathroom a bit small but adequate. Completely different experience from modern chain motel/hotel.
The history of the hotel and entrance and lobby is very nice. There is no restaurant attached or continental breakfast served. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the room isn't the most convenient to have two people get ready in the morning.
The hotel is very old but very nice. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our room was huge and included a washer & dryer and kitchenette. Our room also had a beautiful fireplace that when in use made the room very warm and cozy. The only thing I’d change is the fact there is no breakfast served in the morning. Just coffee and hostess brand cinnamon rolls. At the very least I think there should be a continental breakfast or bagels & donuts/danishes.
The staff went out of there way to accommodate us. We came on the Ss Badger ship on bikes. They stored our bicycles and directed us to nearby restaurants and events.
The room was quaint and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
