"Booked a lake-view room for two nights. The rooms are recently upgraded and very nicely fitted out. If you book a lake view room, request the higher floors. The restaurant meal we had was very nice. We had room service the second night for a small service fee. Only complaint is the doors slam shut which booms up and down the corridor and is quite intrusive. Either a better slow-close or some cushioning on the actual door frame would make it quieter. Car parking is always at a premium but certain street parking is free."

Marsden Stay Rotorua

"The staff is the star of this hotel. Before the check-in, the woman staff was able to reassure how to access the hotel after hours. It was simple and I got in easily for my 3 nights stay. When I check-out, the man staff was very helpful to store my luggage. When I came back to the hotel, it started to rain. I waited until I can walk to the bus station (intercity) but the rain kept going on. The same man asked me if I wanted to have a poncho. To clarify, this is not expected as a service at the hotel. He went above and beyond. I am so amazed by the attention of the staff. They make you feel good at their place. Other than that, the room is very spacious and clean for the duration. You can open your luggage with ease."
