•First Post• This city is called Manado, located in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is the most populous city in North Sulawesi making this city as the capital city that has more than half a million inhabitants residing here. It's a friendly city serving as the welcome gate to the land of waving coconuts. Although it's not the most beautiful city in Indonesia, the city is ranked top 5 on human index development score in Indonesia. This city is messy but it is surrounded with amazing places like beautiful beaches, magnificent volcanoes, national marine parks, tropical rainforest, incredible natural reserves and ancient living historical places. Places to live? I personally suggest you to live in a beach or island resort for some incredible experiences. I suggest you to look it up on Tripadvisor for some reviews! How to get to North Sulawesi? - There are several domestic routes from Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar (transit Makassar) and other cities to Manado with Garuda Indonesia, BatikAir, LionAir, SriwijayaAir, and some other domestic carriages. - There is one international flight (five times a week) from Singapore to Manado with SilkAir.

• Rainbow in Paradise • There is a verse in the bible that tells us, "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." (Gen 9:13) I was lucky to spot such a wonderful divine and natural phenomenon in this place and it was so beautiful. The island is called Lembeh Island, the strait is called Lembeh Strait and the place i took this picture is from a cozy bungalow at Black Sand Dive Retreat.
• Happy 14th of July • Today marks the 391st birthday of Manado, a small capital city of North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
- The Same Spot - It might be the same spot, where my ancestors arrived at this town 2 centuries ago. For the sake of better life and fortune, they had sailed far from mainland China to Singapore or Batavia and finally arrived here. Thanks for choosing this place, because you were right!

It's quite a nice hotel compared to hotels in Indonesia in general, no doubt about it. Many westerners might find it less nice than what they prefer or are used to, but it is indeed one of the best hotels in the city, and considering the relatively low per-night price, it was quite comfortable.
