Royal Villas is an older hotel. The pool is small but nice. The staff at the hotel are very good and friendly. The beds are good. The elevators are fast and reliable. The maintenance people are quick on making repairs. The TV in our room only had 2 stations that were in English.
A nice place to stay with a lot of friendly staff. Location is good. Just don’t like the bands with the tuba and drums etc. Way too loud and not relaxing.

The 2 positives for this property are its extremely kind and caring staff plus the cleanliness.
However, the property is 'tired' and needs remodeling; the noise level is constant from early morning salsa classes with groups
arriving from cruise ships to blasting beach bands all afternoon into early evening, there is no quiet, anywhere. The pool is very busy and there is no beach sitting. The food is just satisfactory and thankfully there are many very good restaurants within walking distance. It is a time share location but with mini suites and rooms for general public stays. For a short one week vacation, it may be an option, as it is in the golden zone.. for longer vacations, it is questionable. Because the staff were so very good, I would like to give this property a good rating, alas, it still remains 2*
Room was always clean, staff was excellent! Friendly & welcoming! Martin was especially helpful! We would definitely stay again.

Loved the suite with 2 bathrooms. Was perfect for 2 friends traveling together. The hotel was very noisy. I get there are restaurants with music but they end at 11pm. The hotel had a very noisy event that lasted well after midnight with guests hooping and hollering. Would stay again but would check to see what type of events are being held. Staff was very friendly

Staff was great, location was good, beach was nice. The hotel is older and it shows age, but staff is great, Enrika was great, he always had a smile and remembered us. The beds are comfortable, probly best so far. Rooms are ok, they show age, clean but still need more cleaning. The 2-4-1 is really not 2-4-1 in drinks, other places have actual 2-4-1. The pool is warm, but showing age and tiles missing and broken. Food at the pool was pretty good, snack type food. We are breakfast one day and it was good. Overall we would come back, the price is good and the staff are great.

During our first visit to Mazatlan we enjoyed our stay. Rooms were outdated but clean. Obvious wear and tear given the humidity and elements. Our first room smelled terrible and was dingy but upon request the hotel promptly moved us to a room in much better condition. The staff were nice and helpful. The pool and view of the ocean were great. The massage station in the lobby was awesome. All in all it was a nice stay.
Great place. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Quite and newly updated. Comfy beds. Would return.

Friendly staff, some bartenders are awesome, others are ok, housekeeping are awesome, very attentive. Everyone in the buffet are awesome. Receptionists need more training . And that whole system about checking out towels for that pool and returning it needs to change to easy access to towels.
Staff were very courteous and friendly. Breakfast was awesome, food ordered at bar was really good, room service food ok not great. Beautiful view of beach and direct beach access. Kids loved heated pool. So close to many restaurants. Would stay there again.
