"Terrible stay while traveling through Waukegan, Illinois at Days Inn Wyndham.
The condition of the room did not meet basic standards- damp odor in the room. There were hair strands lying on the towels folded on the sink in the bathroom. Dents and cracks throughout the bathrooms door. The shower was backed up with mildew presents and there were noticeable stains, peeling paint in the tub area.
In addition, the stay was further disrupted by the housekeeping ladies knocking loudly on the room door.
Overall, the room did not reflect the level of cleanliness or care that should be expected, especially whiling traveling and relying on a place to rest comfortably. "
"Staff was helpful and attentive. Layout was convenient for load in/out and amenities. Breakfast options were better than other lodgings on our trip in the same price range. Would definitely stay here again."
"The whole place felt run down, like it was in need of a renovation everywhere except the front entrance. The elevator was very clunky, everywhere felt dark and dingy, and our room has a chemical smell similar to paint thinner. Our room also had mysterious carpet stains, hair all over the shower, debris on the "balcony" ledge, and a very old box spring mattress that needed to be replaced. We also were not prepared for a conjoined room, and let me tell you if you have neighbors with one of those rooms you will hear EVERYTHING. When I called the desk (I was off site) to let them know we were checking out early I couldn't understand the guy I spoke to at all beyond the question of what my room number was so I just hung up. We will not be returning here ever."
"Stood for one night for a birthday celebration and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations.
We called the front desk to request two comforter because the comforters on both beds were stained. They brought two of them up promptly, which I appreciated, but one of the comforters still had visible stains, which was very disappointing. The mattresses were also very uncomfortable, and we both woke up in pain.
The indoor pool was another letdown—the water appeared cloudy and didn’t seem well-maintained. The room temperature was also an issue. Even with the heat set to 74°F, it felt more like air conditioning, leaving the room uncomfortably cold.
On a positive note, the 2 beds and TV stand looked newer and well-updated (NOT the mattresses), showing that some remodeling has been done. However, it seems incomplete. Parts of the room still felt outdated, and the hallway had an unpleasant smell that clearly still needs remodeling.
Overall, for $300 per night, the stay did not feel worth the price."
