The Lovina

"Stephanie at breakfast is an absolute gem! By the time I left, she felt like a friend. It's a plus that she's bilingual in German! Augus, who makes the omelets at breakfast, already knew my order by my second morning. I walked over to order my omelet, and he had already started it. That level of attention to detail is astounding. Gedday, the gardener, speaks better English than a lot of people who work in reception at other hotels. He's also a kind, lovely man. Free yoga every morning was wonderful! I could go on and on about how special this property is. Beautiful beachfront location. Live music at dinner every night. Phenomenal staff. Great breakfast."

"The street to access the hotel is under construction. My driver wasn’t able to get there and I wasn’t aware until arrival. Most of the beach is under construction and loud. I fell down the stair from the bathroom and the room wasn’t cool upon arrival, even when booked through Expedia ahead of time"

"We've stayed many times at the Lovina Beach Hotel and have loved it each and every time. The Superior rooms are by far the best though there are cheaper rooms if needed. The included breakfast is good, the pool is good and the location is great - right on the beach and a 200m stroll to lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Lovina is a chill out place compared to the craziness of Kuta, Legian & Seminyak. We're already planning our return to Lovina and the same hotel."

"We upgraded to the nicer room and would highly recommend anyone to do the same thing. The room was amazing with wonderful views. It rained before we showed up so the windows were a bit dirty but understand they can't clean them everyday. Staff was very helpful and the fresh squeezed juice (Strawberry) was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful especially as we had it delivered to our room. We did the hibachi dinner and the chef was amazing the food was wonderful. The infinity pool was a bit cold but understandable and the view there at sunset was amazing."

"My wife and I spent three relaxing days at Umadewi Surf, the staff could not do enough for you. We firstly booked a garden view but upgraded to an ocean view on the second and third night. The upgrade went without any problems and they were very accommodating to our needs. The ocean view suite was very spacious and the bathroom was very modern."

"The property itself is very beautiful, with clean cottage accommodation directly in the rice fields. Be prepared to sleep alongside all creatures that inhabit this natural environment; mice, rats, rodents, frogs, birds, insects, snakes, and whatever else is out there. It felt quite like camping. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant on site and both meals were tasty, enjoyable, and offered at a very reasonable price (breakfast was included). Unfortunately, there was nobody at the spa when we went to inquire. However, we found a little place in town that we’re happy to treat us and we’re very gracious when we tipped them extra for their service. "
