"Nice rural location. Pleasant walk of about an hour into Melrose via Leaderfoot bridge and sight of Trimontium. The cottage was cold when we arrived. We used the electric heaters provided but they weren’t quite up to the job. Cottage could have been a bit cleaner. Good parking and WiFi."

"The property is brilliant the castle is amazing. The owners are very friendy and encourage you to walk to grounds which is beautiful. Was very happy with our stay. The location is ideal 20 min drive to Edinburgh 30 min drive to coldstream/kelso to explore the boarders."

"This is a quiet country like cottage. Owners are not maintaining the property, grass was long and unkept, kitchen had greasy walls, dirty blinds. The main bedroom had an ant infestation. I had to was raid to kill the nest under the window. The driveway backs on to an abandoned building that has garbage piles. The main road that the hohae is on is like a race track, lots of loud cars roaring by. Kitchen has a poor amount of glasses to drink from. Very dirty, especially when they charge a...

"The Gate Lodge at the House of the Binns offered good clean and comfortable facilities in a lovely location. The House of the Binns is a National Trust for Scotland property that is well worth a visit and is located within easy reach of Edinburgh , and the Firth of Forth."
