All communication was conducted solely through the dedicated booking platform. The unit itself was clean and generally satisfactory, though it possessed some minor signs of wear (e.g., a frayed carpet), consistent with a short-term rental style. Beautiful space for an affordable rate. We had a wonderful time at Bakan. It was a spacious and stylish place to stay with historical charm. Affordable parking is a bit of a walk however the benefits outweighed this for us. We hope to return!

Great location. Obviously extremely convenient for convention centre access. Communication lacked a little. We were short on coffee pods (enough for 2 days, what about the rest of the week?), had to purchase our own. We very much enjoyed the stay and will come back when next time in Montreal !

I booked the apartment because on the website it said SOUNDPROOF but it wasn’t at all. I heard everything from the next room and the hallway. I communicated to find a somubut no one answered and security said “for us it’s soundproof” but very good location in China town

Great location, unit needs attention

The pros: Being right at the base of Chinatown, and top of the Old Port, and literally steps away from the Palais De Congrès, made the location excellent. Parking at the Palais was extremely easy to access, secure, and reasonably priced for downtown parking ($25/day). Upon entering the unit, it appeared nice and quite modern. The two bedroom unit was extremely spacious, and well furnished, with comfortable beds and a good amount of space in both bedrooms. There was no laundry detergent, and we ran out of coffee pods, but a quick email had both delivered to our unit within the hour. Service was excellent. The cons: My partner and I both questioned what exactly happened in this unit. Every wall was marked and scuffed going from the baseboards to about 4ft up. I was tempted to try and wash the walls myself. A magic eraser and a coat of paint would go a long way. This left me questioning the cleanliness of the unit, and definitely made me look a bit harder than I normally would. The kitchen (specifically the lower cupboard doors and drawers) were absolutely not thoroughly cleaned. The washing machine has not been properly cleaned and gave off a strong mold/mildew scent, and the dryer itself did not work, resulting in having to hang laundry to dry overnight. Overall I would stay here again. It's a wonderful building and super convenient, however I would probably bring some cleaning supplies with me, if only for my own sanity.

Location location location. Space and amenities were good though on low end in terms of quality of finishes, furnishings and supplies; and hvac system can be loud. But nonetheless, a good property. However pne thing that should be considered if traveling with kids, and/or a single woman, the propertu is located on the heart of homeless central.
