The impression from the lobby/reception was worrying -- tatty carpet, dark, old-looking, and mismatched decor. But the rooms were comfortable and generally clean, though there was a bit of mould in the corner of the shower. The breakfast buffet was good, salmon-avo toast was very nice. The coffee was silly weak though, had to ask for a new pot. We had a pleasant stay but will probably try somewhere else next time.

Breakfast was good and faced no issues with parking. The room was clean and comfortable. Some maintainance is required as there was some damp related damage on the walls however it is a old building so that's not to be unexpected with the age of the building. Overall a great place to stay and I recommend it.

Beautiful old hotel- our room was really nice and quirky. If you are not good with stairs I would check what room you have as its a rabbit warren of ups and downs but we loved it!

On arrival, we didnt realise there was an older wing and a newer wing. We were in the older wing and the lifts do not go up to the 2nd floor in the older part of the hotel where our room was located and so we had to carry our luggage upstairs to our rooms. The walk was very higgly piggly and I did some damage to my back carrying the suitcases upstairs. As a senior, it would have been nice if help was provided with our luggage. When we checked out we asked for someone to take our luggage downstairs and staff were very accommodating. However, on arrival they should have carried them up for us. We had a really nice stay. Staff were friendly, breakfast was really nice, our rooms were cleaned. if we ran out of tea, milk or coffee we just let staff know and it was replenished. The gardens were really nice. All in all it was a lovely.stay.
