It’s glamping. If you’re into that, and understanding that’s what it is, it was good. But set your expectations accordingly. It’s windy (noisy and dusty). All the info is on their website and is accurate. Kind of absurd the cost per night when the amenities are less than a roadside motel, but good for them that they can get us to pay it. Service was alright — friendly but in an obligatory way. We were required to sign a lengthy waiver at check in that caught me off guard — essentially that this is a risky activity and we are participating at our own risk, hold them harmless, etc. No amenities, no risk, very basic accommodations— talk about margins! Pros: gorgeous stars, comfy beds, a fun one-time experience, cute front porches, meet other guests around the campfire, the only option near the sand dunes. Cons: you’re in the middle of a dusty, windy dessert; shared bathrooms get busy with long waits at times; and in hindsight I can’t believe the cost for glamping!
