"We had a wonderful weekend. Inn is a little dated but very cute. Room was clean and we sat out on our balcony with wine at night and coffee in the morning. Needed a dusting but comfortable. I would stay there again and recommend it to those traveling. Great location."

"We have stayed here on multiple occasions, and overall we would recommend the INN ON THE RIVER to anyone wishing to explore and experience the Woodstock/Queche Vermont area. The atmosphere and decor of the inn is topnotch. There is some maintenance/upkeep work to be done on the inn's exterior wooden structures, especially at the back of the inn facing the river (re:sanding and re-staining). Also, the breakfast is lacking a fresh fruit mix assortment (melons, berries grapes, etc). Otherwise,...

"What a beautiful place! A quick move back in time to some really lovely spaces. The coffee and pastries were excellent and so appreciated, and the room and bed were delightful We really enjoyed our weekend away."

"The room was fine, comfy beds, the towels were the best we’ve ever had anywhere, but the bathroom was not the best. Everything was so low (toilet and sink area). Another update that should be made is more outlets for people’s phones and watches. It was difficult to find a plug close to the bed so I could see the time and use my alarm. The outlet my watch was plugged into, did not hold the cord and my watch was not charged this morning. Otherwise, it was a fine room."

"Amazing hot pool, great staff, another marvelous stay very close to the mountain and plenty of other activities. Laundry room is clutch (coin operated machines, change available at front desk). The wife had an injury and wasn't able to navigate stairs all that well, the front desk was understanding and were kind enough to move our room to the main floor, requiring no stairs, while the elevator was being worked on. New ownership is busy making some upgrades and maintenance and hopefully the vibes...

"We stayed for 1 night while passing through . The Room was very clean and very comfortable , love that they a non smoking rooms so they didn’t have that gross stale cigarette smell.. The bed was very comfortable, hot water in the shower was amazing ( there was a body soap/ shampoo dispenser but it was empty ) Only thing that was not great was the continental breakfast.. We went in and they had the smallest coffee maker I have ever seen which is ok I think we may have only been the only guests...

"Lovely hotel ( looks more like condos) on the edge of town surrounded by trees and green. Staff was very helpful and available early and late. We had a suite (highly recommend). Very cute town, good restaurants, farmers market on Saturday. We took the train from Rutland to NYC. It was a 2 hour drive from Albany."

"Food was good, tasted fresh and cooked right away like a restaurant. He asked me what I wanted like at a real establishment , even took my order early . All homemade ingredients it tasted like. The room itself was clean also , and the staff I did encounter was very friendly as well. Parking wasn’t bad , no complaints there . "Absolute gem on the edge of.downtown. super walkable everywhere in terms of shopping, and within a 5 min drive to less pricier food options away from downtown. Jessica was an amazing and gracious host. The oatmeal with maple syrup, apples and walnuts was the quintessential Vermont start to the day. So many unique touches in terms of aesthetics made it feel homey yet held to the character of a nearly 200 year old home. Stay here."
