"The Hawksmoor staff were very welcoming, the room was good sized and very clean. The breakfast was brilliant as in we could choose what we wanted and it was all freshly cooked."
"Booked as a short stay for our wedding anniversary. I've seen this property many times as we've walked between Windermere and Bowness and been intrigued by the waterball outside. Didn't actually realise it was this hotel when I booked.
We stayed in a lovely suite with an outside hot tub, a steam room,small sitting area and jacuzzi bath, as well as separate shower room.
When we arrived the room wasn't quite ready, which we expected, as we were a little early. We left our car parked at the...
"This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning views over Lake Windermere. Add in the lovely staff and the amazing food in Mizumi and you will struggle to find a better hotel anywhere in the UK.

"A really great stay in a very nice room. The staff seemed nice enough, the wifi speed was incredible and the hotel also has a decent (free) car park for guests. Very reasonable price and super modern room. Couldn't fault it."
"Beautiful location, views are stunning on the outside terrace, rooms are lovely whilst small has all you need although would suggest a mirror on the dressing table. Breakfast was lovely, drinks very reasonably priced with a good selection and lovely welcoming staff. "

I arrived late around 2300, not able to find the property, call them and call answer straight away.
Clean nice room. Very high standard for a guest house. I would say hotel grade as I have been a hotel manager in most of my career in hospitality industry. "

Note that hotels.com incorrectly shows the location on the map, house is actually over an hour walk from the center of Windermere. Further, hotels.com inaccurately details free WiFi at the accommodation. Space itself is about as pictured. Very cosy, lovely garden, however did quite aggressively smell of wet dog and conservatory had some spiders/cobwebs. "
"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "
