"Super comfy bed — especially for the price! — and cute decor. Staff were lovely when they were around. Check-in is via screen in the lobby and staff are available only by phone after normal business hours. There’s a little convenience store with some essentials but they were out of toothbrushes and toothpaste.
My group booked 2 rooms. Both were clean but one didn’t have a bolt on the door (literally just a hole in the side of the door where the bolt should be). In that same room, the coffee machine didn’t work and a lamp was broken. Not sure why they put guests in there when so many things don’t work! Perhaps they would have moved us if we’d figured it out earlier, but it was quite late by the time we got back to the hotel and figured all of this out so we just went to sleep. Still, I slept well because the bed was comfy and the room was very dark and cool.
Overall I’d stay again, but would check all the essentials before going out for dinner!"
"The rooms are located right at the walking center of Leiden in a lovely restored building on one of the loveliest canals. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Turn left out the door to the public market and the main shopping streets. Turn right to the lovely Pieterskerk (c 1221), many nice restaurants on the Cloksteg and the old academic buildings of the venerable Leiden University and it’s famous gardens."
"Everything at the Intercity hotel Leiden was perfect. The staff were brilliant always very willing to help, check in and out were simple and quick. My room was very clean and quiet and the bed and shower were great. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was very good. I will definitely stay at this hotel again."
"We needed to change rooms upon check in because of the cigarette smoke even though we specified and the room indicated no smoking. The staff switched us immediately. This is a no frills motel, no breakfast and no safe in the room. Otherwise location is right next to the train station."
"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very kind and helpful throughout our visit.
They generously allowed us to store our luggage until 5:30 p.m. after check-out so we could spend the day doing research at the university library. Since the front desk is not staffed after 2:00 p.m., they clearly explained how to contact them. When we called, they immediately opened the door remotely so we could collect our luggage. It was a very clever and convenient system, and everything worked perfectly.
Their kindness and flexibility made our trip much easier. We would be very happy to stay here again!"
"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We had the beautiful loft room overlooking the canal.it was even better than the photos. The room was spotlessly clean. Every morning we enjoyed the complimentary coffee. The staff was wonderful and we loved the quiet walks along the canals to get to the center of town (about 15 mins). We would definitely stay again."
