"This hotel is a top choice for Gero with very delicious and healthy buffet dinner and breakfast. Outdoor Onsen without of this world has breathtaking views!!! The staff was extremely helpful and spoke perfect English. The property is well located with easy parking. The Gero onsen is currently ranked number 2 best onsen in Japan and we can tell with the quality of water from this hotel. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Wifi is superfast. It checked all the boxes for a great stay. We had a wonderful time and would return. Excellent service all around from Front Desk to Restaurant. Thank You Very Much for the great stay!!!"

"Large outdoor area of onsen pools with 4 lie-flat onsen beds. This hotel is well located with large parking lot. The room is spacious with suite and view of river and Gero. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and healthy. The hot spring is known for restorative and you can feel the difference why Gero is ranked number 2 of the 100 best hot springs in Japan. The hotel's location and quality of onsen is hard to beat. Thank You for the Great Service!!!!"

"The hotel shuttle and staff were great in explaining things. The shower in the room was a little dated, but we used the Onsen bath a lot. The meals were delicious! The hotel was within walking distance to the town."

"Authentic Japanese style Hotel with Onsen. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms very roomy (compared to city hotels in Tokyo, Osaka etc). Hotel is definitely on the older side. The best part was the view over the River! Gorgeous!"

"the room was clean and enough space for 2. they brought our luggage up the 3rd floor walkup. the slight inconvenience was the ladies rooms were on the 2nd floor. the food was decent and the staff was very nice. coffee and tea were complimentary and was nice to have in the morning and evenings. "

"The location is very convenient, just about a 7-minute walk to both the bus stop and train station, making it easy to get around or to go to Magome. It’s 20 minutes by taxi or bus to Magome. We had to use this hotel since we did Nakasendo Trail next day , starting in Magome. The neighborhood itself is quiet, safe, and has a relaxing atmosphere—great for unwinding after a day of exploring. One thing to keep in mind is that there are limited dining options open nearby in the evening, so it’s best to plan ahead by making reservations or arranging meals through the hotel. The hotel does not provide assistance on making outside restaurants reservations. Also, the check in time is 4:00 pm,but they helped us put our 2 carry-ons inside of the room,but we couldn’t access. The room was clean and well-maintained, with fresh, crisp linens and spotless towels, though they were a bit on the thinner side. The bedding follows a more traditional Japanese style—firmer mattress and pillows—which may not suit everyone’s preference, especially if you’re used to softer options. Shoes are removed at the main entrance/lobby. Yukata is provided inside of the room to be used at the public baths. The breakfast was included, but didn’t seem to have a wide variety of options, so we skipped it. While the overall stay was comfortable and peaceful, the price felt slightly high compared to the amenities provided. That said, the cleanliness, location, and calm surroundings still made it a pleasant experience."

"The ryokan has excellent breakfast and dinner buffets, ping pong, billiards, karaoke, game room, manga library, massage chairs, and of course indoor and outdoor onsens. "

"We booked the triple bedroom and the room is huge. Beds were comfortable. There were 3 onsen in the hotel, pretty good but a little old. In fact this hotel feels a little old but overall it is still good, a traditional Japanese ryokan feel. The checking in was a little inefficient as we waited for a while until our turn to be brought to the room. Breakfast was a little chaotic, we were told that the breakfast buffet start at 650am-8am but at 7+am we were still queueing for table. Feel too early and being rushed to start the day. They have shuttle bus from the train station to the hotel, journey just 1-2 mins. Else it is also walkable like 5 mins. "

"An amazing experience and stay! We spent two nights in the ryokan and it was a highlight of our trip. The food is exquisite and we were served an array of traditional, creative and beautiful dishes which we very much enjoyed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. They also offered us transfers to the nearby beautiful Majome-Juku from where we walked along the Nakasendo trail and experienced the stunning Japanese countryside and traditional crafts. We also went in the onsen and had in house massages which were amazing. If we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Japan we will certainly be staying again!"
