Filthiest hotel in my 40 years of global travel!!

I was unable to stay at location as Borge rooms were FILTHY!! There was mildew and other gross stuff growing under the slip pads inside the bathtubs. In my estimation, these had not been removed in several months. I had to seek and got alternate accommodations. I have already submitted this and would like a full refund as I have stated , I was unable to stay onsite. No one except wat amounts to be a security guard was onsite to address my issues which included waiting 1.5 hours for keys to second room to show up at which time the FILTH was discovered and security guard was no where to be found. My stay ended up to be pleasant at another property.

Pros: Very quite compound. Lots of greenery makes for relaxing feel. Spacious rooms. Cons: Dated, bland rooms. poor bathroom shower pressure. No wifi.

Nice quite place

Great staff and very quite place close to ricks cafe and very close to town and other areas of negril. To the 7 mile beach you would need a taxi since is like 10-15 minutes away. The inly thing I dislike about the room the ac wasn’t working and the shower didn’t have enough preassure very little water was coming out.

Summerset Guesthouse Negril

Summerset is an ok place to stay great location to the sea, Rick's Café and other amenities. However there was no internet service. The place was dated, bathtub was chipped and rusty. There was little to no hot water daily.. The sunset was priceless

Disappointing and displeased

I think this hotel should be taken off Expedia. We did not stay the night, the hotel and furniture needs updating. We were scared to stay the night and left after a few hours, we sought alternate accommodation. The room was not secured and we were scared for our safety. I found the supposedly security guard that was on duty, but after speaking with him about the security of the place I was even more scared. There were stray cats and barking dogs around the place. The lighting outside of the room was not adequate. The room was somewhat clean but the faucet for the hot water in the shower was coming apart. I have expressed my disappointment to Ms. Campbell and I have asked that my money be refunded, still waiting on a reply from her.

Very Hard to find, too many dogs and cats entering

We book for 2 days but stay only one night the door could not secure properly we left unsafe, too many dogs and cats entering the room as soon as the door where open, the beds where comfortable the staff seem nice but we would not recommend anyone to stay there and we would not book again there.

Upon checking into the hotel, the room not was not what was advertised, walls need painting television that was in Spanish language and we couldn't chsnge chanel the ac couldn't turn up it wasn't even cooling the room, it was cooler sitting on the balcony And most importantly we had no running water to have a shower after a long flight, you couldn't even wash your hands at the tap there was nothing .No one new the pass word for the Wi-Fi either so we had nothing for comfort at all. Furnitures need revamping they are so dated, bathroom fittings are rusty. I think they should close have the place down while the do some work to improve the property ad it's a quite relaxed place just needs fixing up. I could say a lot more in my review but will just leave it on that note.

Dont waste your money

No water, no housekeeping...been to many hotels in negril and this is the worst by far...

nice place for the price

I arrived at 9pm. Yes 9pm.. and there was no front desk and the only people there were the bartender and probably his friends just hanging out. I told him we were really tired and need a place to sleep. I mentioned that I am going to book the place and will show the front desk my reservation. He made a phone call and he was able to give me a room. The hotel is kind of shady during the night but in the morning, it was fine. Front desk lady was nice as well. For the price, it was worth it for me. Our neighbor were chilling outside smoking ganja. They didn't bother us at all.

False advertisement

They need updated pictures on the website. The entire faculty is rundown! They need to upgrade! Pool was filthy, all the pool chairs vinyl covering were cracked. Wifi didn't work properly, had to run down staff for clean linen, they never came to clean up the rooms. Plumbing was terrible, toilet & shower backed up more than once.

Nice Staff

The room was very dusty. The cable in the room was non existent. The staff was wonderful. For my taste I would not stay there again. This is a place for a person that plans to just sleep there at night and be gone the rest of the day.
