It’s an old hotel, not unlike any other in the French Quarter, but appeared to be adequately maintained. Our room was just okay, but nothing exceptional. The best thing about the property was its close proximity to all attractions and public transportation. Everything was convenient for us to get to; and the street car service, although slow, was very cheap for senior (40 cents per ride). The value, however, at $245 per night, just wasn’t there. Maybe it was comparable to other hotels in the area, but in my opinion it was overpriced.

Beautiful hotel with well appointed room in a prime location. The staff was particularly caring and helpful in scheduling cabs. The bar is so amazing that it requires reservations! I highly recommend Bienville House!

The room was great, the front desk staff delightful, the location excellent. Unfortunately one of our traveling companions had some jewelry stolen from the room, and the manager's response was more combative than helpful, and the key swipe data was flat out inaccurate, which made it impossible to identify the employee who had taken it. I wish we could stay there again. because other than that it was great.

Great location. Helpful staff. Nice property. Very comfortable and quiet at night even in the midst of the French Quarter. No onsite breakfast cafe but other businesses serving breakfast are close by and the room includes a coffee maker and refrigerator.

Night staff was super helpful when it came to finding the hotel itself since a lot of roads were closed due to a festival going on. Other than that I was very unhappy with the place. The room key did not work and the ac did not work correctly and took forever to cool down the room. The valet left pur car unlocked which we had to lock with our app luckily but in order to get the car back they needed us to unlock it with the app....even though they had the keys....when I questioned it the lady on the phone also said it was weird but that is what they requested. Made me believe that they just left my car unlocked in a parking garage far away with the keys inside. Super upsetting. But not as upsetting as this....the water would not turn off. The shower was in the off position and the water would not stop. Had to run to the front desk to tell them who sent us the valet guy who stood in the bathroom for a few minutes just to tell us that we needed the maintenance manager. After waiting for hours with the shower still running and me not wanting to shower yet since I didn't know when someone would return we got a call from the office. They said someone was coming just might take some time because of the festival. Okay....all night long water running....no one came. I heard someone outside my door around 5 am maybe doing something but when I checked out and I reminded the front desk about the water...she had no idea. So done. So upset. Never again.

I had the misfortune of spending one night at this terrible hotel. Don't let the attractive room fool you. It was extremely noisy. Some awful person was parked outside my window for hours at midnight, blaring his music while he hung out with his friend. I called the front desk to ask them if they could either ask him to turn off the music or move somewhere else, or even call the police and ask them to do one of those things. The woman at the front desk refused to help me in any way. She couldn't care less that I couldn't sleep because of the loud music and didn't want to be bothered or "misuse" the police. I could also hear every quiet conversation in the adjacent rooms and hallway. And the next morning I had no water. I told the front desk and they said, "oh yeah the water has been shut off but we left a note about it in your room." They absolutely did not. Nor did any of the three staff members I spoke to just hours before when I checked in mention that I would have NO WATER!! WHAT KIND OF HOTEL TREATS YOU LIKE THIS? You would be crazy to stay here when you have so many other options. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you. This place is a disaster.

The room we booked was lovely (suite with large private balcony). Some of the building hallways were in the midst of renovation, but overall the building was charming. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Loved this historical hotel right near the riverfront. Loved the mini courtyards with the Sundeck rooms, was surprised that the beds were full size beds, which was not a deal breaker but just odd that my husband and I could not sleep next to each other for our stay because we both couldn’t fit on one.

We had a room on the third floor facing inward to the Courtyard. As such, it was much quieter than a street facing room. Adequately sized room with a VERY comfortable bed. Central AC system with individual room controls was very quiet.

The place was nice and conveniently located. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great. And the first day the water didn’t get very warm/hot.

wonderful location, beautiful Serene room. Loved the Italian style restful courtyard and pool! Enjoyed our delicious coffee there every morning before taking a plunge! Staff was lovely and friendly. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
