Appreciate that the South Bronx has a Name Branded hotel in the area, it was the deciding factor in staying at this location (just a 10 minute walk from daughters new apartment). Staff, Josephina was very friendly upon checking. They offer glass water bottle during stay for filling at station for regular or sparkling water. Husband used small gym (no a/c or fans). Our room faced the Harlem River and was a stones throw from I87 and the railroad tracks, can we snap for the sound proofing windows, dampened the sound and honking to next to nothing!!! Room was clean, hallway smelled good, bed was comfortable. There is a metro at 138th just around the corner, but also very close walk to the Grand Concourse Terminal (149th) with the 2 line getting you to midtown in about 25 minutes! Hostas College was nearby, and we did walk after dark - is it the best area of the city? No, but at no time did we feel unsafe. Walked to Yankee Stadium and had the best coffee at Clubhouse Cafe. Breakfast is cereal, muffins, bread/bagels, mediocre coffee. While we did not have dinner there - the rooftop bar had moved inside, and the DJ was spinning tunes when we arrived back on Friday night - could not hear the party once we hit the elevator. We'll be back!
