"The staff here is 10/10, especially those that work the breakfast buffet. You could not ask for more attentive and kind people.
The pool is well maintained. While there I witnessed an employee check the chemical levels of the water and another employee skim the pool. I stayed on the 4th fl and could see clearly to the bottom of the pool.
If you use the fitness center, it is sparse, 1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, and free weights.
The only negative I have is the showers/bathtubs. I have stayed here twice and in both rooms the "coating" over the bathtub is peeling badly."
"Needs a serious upgrade, we felt like we were at motel 6. Pool was cloudy and bathroom was dirty, toilet paper holder was broken. The room just looked so dingy"

10/10 Excellent
"The staff really makes the stay. All of them are so friendly and make you feel welcomed and wanted. We've stayed multiple times and now some feel like family or old friends!"
"This was my second stay at this fantastic hotel in the last 30 days. They did not disappoint. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Sylvia was very caring and professional and took great care of us again on this trip. Malcolm checked us in very easy, quickly. The serving staff, Irma, Sandra, Jouana and Anastasia, and the 2 chefs were just as caring as before and great. Overall, this hotel is a great value, great amenities, clean, good size rooms, delicious breakfast, but again, most important of all, the team members are fantastic. I thank Sylvia and all other team members for their dedication and great customer care. I, fully intend to be back in a few days again."
"We enjoy our stay when we come back home. Nonetheless, the hotel is always clean and customer service is always good. However, the hotel is dated and needs to add elevators for elderly.
Otherwise, we would stay because it's close to everything we need when we come in the area.
Thanks"
Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Wilmington South Area
10/10 Excellent
"My stay here was decent for the most part. Our suite had way more than I expected. There were a few minor things that I ran into but nothing major. The breakfast was really good and when the food ran low there was always someone there refilling it. The front desk workers were really nice and attentive."
"The reason we stayed here was to enjoy the outdoor patio we had often admired. Unfortunately, it was unusable due to the crowd as this is a popular student bar. I had inquired at check in if a reservation was needed and was told no. Additionally it was not expected that under 21 guests could not eat in the restaurant, the staff was kind and would allow with mark on hands indicating they were underage. Ultimately we ate elsewhere as there was no availability outside and inside was quite loud and cramped. There was a lot of noise in the room due to drivers revving engines on Main. The rooms were very clean, beds just ok, and an annoying light on thermostat (I am someone that cant sleep well with lighrs in the room). Breakfast was disappointing with much of the food being cold. Overall it was clean, friendly staff, but felt underwhelming and overpriced given the experience."
