Disappointing and surprising not to have better coffee and tea facilities in the bedrooms - these need upgrading Fiona and Hamish on the front desk were extremely helpful

Staff super, food quite overpriced - so many other restaurants around for cheaper, we paid more in hotel for a 3 course fixed menu than 3 courses with wine in Gino D'Campos. Good location 5 mins walk from rail station. Nice shower.

Great post wedding event stay, staff went above and beyond to sort things for us. Worth noting there’s not a ton of dining options around on Sundays.

Good but not perfect !
The whole weekend was great,the hotel is a lovely quiet,central refuge from the busy city. Our only criticism was that we would have expected daily housekeeping from an hotel of this calibre,we arrived back after a busy day to an unmade bed and a pile of damp towels....unexpected but not the end of the world.

Could have been better
The hotel & room was nice but the Service let it down. Service at the gin bar was slow as the staff were all chatting amongst themselves plus the couldn’t do the cocktail I wanted from the menu. Breakfast service was poor as they had run out of most hot items and bread for toast and it took a while to replenish these. We weren’t offered a menu to choose the vegetarian options that were apparently available so did without

Was very friendly hotel to stay in and was nice to be remembered by the staff from last time we stayed. Was very busy at the pool but the staff were good enough to ring us when we were able to go in

Great place to stay in Newcastle
I recently stayed at this hotel with my two children age 7 and 11, and had a wonderful experience. The staff was exceptional - friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and provided a comfortable stay throughout. One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic spa facilities. The swimming pool was a great way to cool down, especially for children. However, due to its small size, it's advisable to check in advance for availability to avoid disappointment. Despite the many positives, there was one minor downside. The bed sofa provided for children was not very comfortable, which could be improved for a better overall experience. Overall, this hotel offers a great stay with its excellent staff, clean rooms, and fantastic spa facilities. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Liked: location, convenient for the train station, lots of bars & dining options nearby. Hotel was clean, large bathroom. Disliked: large queue for breakfast, staff were slow to clear tables so even though there were tables free, they were piled with dirty pots awaiting clearing. Pillows in the room were very lumpy, worst 2 nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. Requested some firm ones from housekeeping which took nearly an hour to arrive and were exactly the same. Uncomfortable bed, 2singles pushed together so an uncomfortable join down the middle. Pool was nice but quite small.

4 star price without 4 star service
Lack of staff at check in, so long check-in queues. No staff at night for room service, ended up cancelling what we eventually ordered through reception because it was never coming. Just not good enough for a 4 star hotel.

Hotel is in a very convenient location close to the station. Very comfortable rooms, good gym facilities, fantastic breakfast and very friendly staff. The spa facilities can get crowded, so choose your time wisely. Would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a fabulous hotel and I am sorry it was only for 1 night. From the initial pre-stay communication to the checkout, it was personal and professional. Special mention to Fiona and Nish on reception for their excellent customer service and to Sally who was in full control of the Executive Lounge on the night of our stay. Sally has a fantastic ability to remember guests names and ran the lounge impeccably. I look forward to a return visit.
