"I wish we had more reasons to stay near the Briar Inn because we would be regulars! We only needed one night in order to attend a few graduation events and the Briar Inn far exceeded our expectations. I could tell from the Expedia listing that it was going to be a quaint little place to stay outside of Salem, but it was really exceptional. "You always know what you get at a Hampton. Good service, clean room and who doesn’t like a free breakfast? Dan, the front desk person helped with a tv remote issue and went out of his way to find a replacement quickly. Well done. Excellent location as well. "

"Charming, friendly, great food and bar A step back in time and a diamond in the rough"

"The room was generally clean, but the amenities were terrible. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body soap. There were reusable fillable containers that were empty.. We had no toilet paper. I had to ask for toilet paper and extra towels and we just made do with the one bar of soap we were given. The bed was fine. There is a refrigerator. The breakfast was awful. The coffee maker wasn’t working and then by the time they got it working it was basically Sanka/some powdered coffee mix. "

"Lobby and room was clean, check in was timely and efficient. Location is convenient. The room required some maintenance, however . The shower did not drain well. Unfortunately on the 3rd night of the stay I was awakened by the sound of running water- it was dripping down from the ceiling around the sprinkler system head and through the light fixture over the bathroom sink-, a plumbing issue from above. Resolved with a call to the front desk, but it was as an unfortunate awakening. I left that...

"The property looks like it’s going through a renovation but the bathrooms aren’t complete, they should let guests know that prior to checking in. Pillows were not great bed was just ok I wouldn’t recommend"

"It was cute and comfy. Great location and price!! The view was great too as we were in the back and the woods were right there. Also loved being able to open the window for fresh air! Some updates need to be done such as a couple of the window slats were broken. The fan and light in the bathroom didn’t work but the light about the vanity was very bright. There was a few ants but I told management and they went right in and took care of them. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights and it was good for the price we paid (less expensive than other hotels in the area). The room was very spacious, including a huge entryway. It was helpful to have that space to serve as a buffer to the noise outside in the hallway from the elevator and ice machine. The fridge in the room was large . The walls were paper thin though - we could hear everything coming from the room next door, including when we were in the bathroom (we could hear them using the toilet)....

"Stayed 2 nights in a suite and one in regular room both with ocean views. The spacious rooms have a nice balcony with chairs and a little table. The beds are comfortable. There is a very convenient indoor parking. There is complimentary coffee and a microwave in the lobby. If you need a hair dryer, bring your own."

"Property was nice with a good location right in the center of downtown and close location to all restaurants and shops. Breakfast is included, I would say it’s more of a quick grab snack than breakfast, although I must say they have great cookies and desserts available all day. "

"We were a little upset to find our room (Room 517) had been cleaned on Saturday, 5/16/26, and the door was left unlocked and slightly opened. We reported it the Reception Desk twice. We would return to that location in the future."

"The only issue we had was in the bathroom. If you have any disabilities, the bathroom is very small and the shower is awkward and there is no grab bars."
