"Very nice property. The home is very clean and rather spacious. Very close to nearby public transport which makes it very easy to get around. Location is rather walkable as well to other restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoyable more immersive experience to the neighborhood. There's a great little coffee house literally seconds away. Lovely amenities in the home. Personally loved the shower and large bathtub. The beds were good, but were very loud and creeky even with subtle movements. Since there...

Hakone Suisen

Ohiradai

10/10 Excellent

Hotel Suisen was the first ryokan I have stayed in and far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is small and very peaceful, set back from the winding road and just a few minutes walk downhill from the mountain railway station Ohiradai. It is very easily accessible from Tokyo and a Hakone Free Pass covers transport costs as well as the cable car. The staff were very friendly and courteous and provided a comprehensive introduction to the facilities, including the indoor and outdoor thermal baths....

A beautiful hotel. We had a large and well appointed bedroom on 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the stunning green landscape with a spring water bath and swing chair. Staff can’t do enough and you feel very well looked after. Nice touches such as free drinks and ice cream. Wonderful onsen and Japanese garden. Very extensive breakfast buffet. It’s a large hotel and was very noisy when we arrived but was quiet and peaceful after that and had a wonderful air of calmness. Get very clear and...

Irori Guesthouse Tenmaku - Hostel

Ninohira

10/10 Excellent

I had a great one night stay here. The staff are very welcoming and clearly enjoy working there and interacting with guests. The room is exactly as described, and it was very dark at night too. The walls are very thin and sound travels easily especially from the room below, so it’s better to think of it as a dorm rather than a completely separate room. I couldn’t join the Irori dinner as I arrived too late, but it was starting just as I was arriving, and it looked like a cosy experience...

This hotel has a lovely onsen, and spectacular views of Mount Fuji from the roof terrace which has a heated foot bath It is convenient for the bus to see the surrounding area, nice and quiet, with a woods where herons nest next door. However it is fairly remote, in that you have to walk for about half an hour to reach shops or restaurants. Staff were kind and helpful. The food at breakfast was plentiful and varied, with sufficient vegetarian options. There are laundry facilities and ice, and...

Beautifully modern ryokan, with stunning views. Family friendly, with a small play area, toys and games you can take to your room. Staff speak great English and are very helpful. Great location- 5 min walk to the train station where you can take a gondola up to the cable cars or take the mountain train back down, 10 min (steep) walk to Gora park, 15 min walk to Open Air Museum, and 25 min walk to Yunnesan hot spring water park. This place was excellent, great service, staff were helpful. There are 2 top tier restaurants, a spa with great aromatherapy massage service, there is a relax room on the 12F of the main building with excellent views of Mt Fuji on a clear day. Breakfast has a choice of Japanese style or western and the 2 restaurants including Teppanyaki or Italian. Finally there are nice walks around the garden and pond area as well as a public bath which is well maintained. The hotel seems almost brand new!...
