Beautiful beach with palm trees and palapas. Although you can only get a palapa if you go down there at 6am. Room was very nice. Disappointed with food. 6 day stay - only ate 1 breakfest 1 dinner 1 lunch at the property. Drinks were served in very small cups, assuming they want you to make more trips to bar so you tip more.

This resort was fine for what we were looking for. Two guys just looking for a good time. Drank quite a bit. Food is okay - nothing special but we were not expecting much at an all inclusive resort. I would say the à la carte restaurants are a must for dinner as buffets are maybe subpar. Lobby bar was the best bar (shout out to Armando). Bar by the pool not so much as far as drinks but a good vibe. Resort itself was clean, decent gym, and staff was fine for the most part. The crowd is on the older side but it was still fun meeting all types of people. Beach is calm and we had no problem getting chairs around noon time to relax a bit. I would stay here again with the same purpose but I wouldn’t necessary bring a family here. There is also a ton of stuff right outside the resort between restaurants, bars, clubs, ice cream, anything you can think of.

This is a neat and clean resort. It is older with lots of need for improvement. A lot of broken things everywhere and in our room too. Lights broken, fan in ceiling broken, fan in bathroom broken. We didn’t have any hot water. Called a lot. Did nothing. Requested a lot of items but never received. Not very friendly staff. Would go back Aruba, not barcelo resort.

View from room was okay, partial parking lot & ocean. Front desk staff was not very inviting or friendly checking in or out, the rest of the staff (cleaning, restaurant, etc.) were outstanding! Definitely family friendly. Property needs updating, but generally acceptable for price. Not a fan of not being able to have dinner each night at a sit-down restaurant each night. We could only book 4 nights with a 7 day stay, not acceptable!

Room was fine. The food needs a total overhaul. The buffet was uninspiring, cold items, not much variety. The four restaurants seem to be “filled” every night and no reservations were left but when you walked my there were so many empty tables. Why? The pool is small and can never get a chair. People leave towels on the chairs and don’t use them until early afternoon. This is unacceptable. Lounges for the beach need to be replaced, many are broken and they just aren’t comfortable.

We enjoyed our 8 night stay at Barcelo. The food, accommodations, staff were great. The only issue was obtaining clean beach towels. They were often unavailable.

Really a disappointment for the price they charge. The place has a vibe of a discount 3* hotel and not the 5* resort they are claiming to be. It's all-inclusive but the quality of the food is quite low. The meat and fish at the buffet often looked old and tired and tasted accordingly. I'm not picky but even I often had trouble finding something at the buffet I could eat that wasn't junk food. The restaurants that require a reservation are not much better. The staff are nice enough but not very effective: for example, there is often a long line to get seated at the buffet for no good reason. Probably chasing tips, the staff are busy serving drinks - something that the patrons could easily get themselves - instead of turning over tables. Even though it's "all inclusive", the tipping culture is pervasive: tip boxes are everywhere and there seems to be an expectation of a tip for every single interaction with the staff. For any requests or issues with the room, multiple calls have to be made, the first call is always ignored. Air conditioning was not working at the gym regardless of how many requests were made to fix it. As far as I know, a large portion of the guests are there on a timeshare, so they have no choice. We could see the ocean from our room. The hotel was clean, rooms well stocked, food was amazing, beach was beautiful, the staff and security were all so kind and always smiling.

The property is a bit dated but the staff are great, the buffets are plentiful and the beach area is so nice.

It’s close to everything. Shops,restaurants, and night clubs are across the street . Staff was great and super friendly! Food was sometimes cold in the Buffet and not alit of young people. There was more adults like 50 plus .

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The beds were kind of hard, but all things considered it wasn’t a huge deal. I will say, we paid for the royal level room, and when we got there we were told there was no restaurant reservations for the entirety of our stay. I feel as though royal level should have first dibs on reservations, or at least be guaranteed dinner at the all inclusive restaurants we paid for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. There were many people, and it never felt overly crowded. I don’t know that I would upgrade to royal level again, given the circumstances, but our overal experience was wonderful with the staff and room.

There are a number of restaurants on the premises (you need to make reservations once you're there) The staff are very friendly and speak all languages. The beaches are wonderful

Great view of the ocean from our room. We were upgraded upon arrival to a suite which gave us a second bathroom. Friendly staff all around. Buffet food was okay. Great omelette station. We didn't eat in any of the sit down restaurants. Bar drinks were great. Pool environment was fun. Had to get up by 6am to reserve chairs.

We were a big group and celebrated my sister's 50th birthday. We had an amazing time. Staff were very accommodating and great to work with.
