Our room was ready and clean. Staff provided extra towels for us. The disappointment was that although we were told breakfast was available starting at 6:30 am, there was nothing other than overnight coffee available at 7 am. Using the phone for contact in the common area meant the phone rang multiple times without anyone answering it.

The staff member was really trying their best and seemed to be very short handed. The room had a plastic bag tied over and around the smoke detector on the ceiling. They had “upgraded” me from a single king to a suite with a jacuzzi, but honestly given the state of the facility I didn’t feel that jacuzzi was a health safe option. IlThe jacuzzi was in the main bedroom legit 10 inches from the bed with mirrored walls around it. Honestly gave it a sleazy feel. The door lock (the one with the bar that is supposed to act like a door chain, was broken. That would typically have been enough to cause me not to stay in the room, but I did validate that the deadbolt worked. Really the staff appeared nice, and she seemed to be really trying to make it work… But the facility is just in vast need of upgrade and repair. It definitely did not meet with the standards I was expecting for being a part of the Marriott family of hotels. In fact it did not meet with the standard. I had expected of it being a best western. Interestingly, in the front parking lot there was a truck parked that was filled not only in the back, but in the cab with garbage all the way to the ceiling, the front doors of the truck were slightly a jar, and you could see the entire truck was filled with garbage like it’s probably been there quite a while and is almost being used as a dumpster.

Stayed here due to numerous 5-Star ratings but now believe they were all false. I’ve never paid $65 a night to squat somewhere but now I can mark that off the bucket list. Hotel felt very much like a half-way house and there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that but would have liked to know before hand. Someone was heavily smoking on the second floor despite being a no-smoking property stinking up the place. Shower didn’t drain well and there were fist-sized holes in the bathroom wall and door. Very dated property. Pillows were plentiful though

room and staff. everyone here is on drugs including the front desk clerk. and got in our room and there was a jar full of pee. then left for a couple hours and the staff had gone in our hotel room and went through our stuff this is not okay at all and i will be talking to them when i check out and ill be contacting the company. for the price i had to pay plus a 100 deposit this shouldn’t happen and people are smoking in hotel rooms the whole building smells like cigarettes

The first room we checked into had a trash can full of fastfood garbage and someone had obviously been laying in the bed. Our second room was better. However, the next morning we learned our key opened a room two doors down! (My mom went to the wrong room.) I should have checked to see if I could open other doors but I didn't want to find out.

Starting with a very professional and friendly check-in to a totally pleasant accessible room (104), my wife and I found our stay an enjoyable departure from our regular Super 8 stays. The property is smaller than most, but affords a view of a lake from our window across a wide park-like area, with a covered cookout area that I assume is for guests. The town, Chisago City, Minnesota, has some of the friendliest and courteous citizens we have ever experienced. It is an outdoor and lake destination for sports and a variety of lake recreation. I recommend it for value and price point.
