"This place is a real gem! It’s clean, charming, unique, and filled with history. The innkeeper, Karl, will happily tell you as many stories as you have time for. The room was lovely, as were the various common areas of the old mansion. "Our family of 5 (3 teens) loved the Traveler's Rest! This hotel has so much more character and charm than a standard hotel in the suburbs. Our teens described it as a "Wes Anderson movie vibe." Our beds were comfortable, the Byer's' Suite with three beds, two bedrooms and a private washroom was perfect for all five of us, and the common area is comfortable with great coffee. We are so happy we had a chance to experience an authentic Pittsburgh neighbourhood while in town for a youth sports...

"Hotel staff friendly,very helpful,we appreciated the complimentary morning cofee and their generous hold of the room as they knew we were checking in late due to wrong google map directions.I would only make one recommendation. My husband and I are non-smokers. All of our neighboring room occupants were lighting up all day,including housekeeping.Perhaps they have it,but to be put in a smoke free section would be appreciated next visit and beyond."

"Fantastic property!! Very clean and well stocked. Lots of extras that made our stay enjoyable. Only downfall was that our apartment unit was a long walk from the parking garage but otherwise everything was perfect. Would definitely stay again."

"Can’t beat the price or location in downtown Pittsburgh. Extremely convenient for travelers who chose to drive instead of fly in. The parking garage nearby has parking for $25 a day and is come and go as you please. Will definitely be staying here again. "
