Got a good spot upon arrival, but we were hesitant to drive for fear of losing a parking spot on a street with few first come street parking. Nice elderly ladies, one told me she was in her 80's, cleaned and stocked continental breakfast. Easy to talk with, but kept telling me how exhausted she was having to work. "The property needs a lot of updating. The elevators were out of order many times during our stay resulting in our family, including a child with an ankle fracture, having to walk up 8 flights of stairs multiple times. The bathrooms have no ventilation. There is no furniture on the balconies. Overall, I will not be staying at Tides again. "

"We stayed for one night and had a great experience. The staff was super friendly, and our room was very clean. The breakfast was fresh and really good! The decor makes the hotel feel so unique—it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel at all. I love how it has such a local, cozy vibe. It even smells amazing in there!"

"Booker beware! They overbooked and when we arrived we were informed they didn’t have our reservation available. We had pre paid through Expedia had nowhere to stay and it was an absolute nightmare trying to get a refund. Shaunte at the front desk was incredibly rude. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Even though it may be inexpensive, please please don’t book this hotel it is not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere. "

"Staff was super nice. My room was comfortable and clean. It's an inexpensive hotel so expect that it lacks things like coffee makers. My only real complaint is not about the property itself it's the location. While it is convenient to get to Folly Beach and Charleston there are very limited restaurants in the immediate area even to grab something quick unless you want McDonalds which is next door. "We did not eat breakfast or any meal at this property. The lobby smelled like fried cafeteria food at all times. The property needed an update! Old tv without the ability to stream. Shower didn’t work well, toilet got stopped up and the hallway was very LOUD! we could hear any time someone opened or closed their doors esp housekeeping. For the price, I expected cleaner and updated accommodations! I will not stay here again "
