"This place is unique, and the huge trees on the property are amazing. You can pick your own fruit and macadamia nuts even, and keep or eat them. The set up of the "common area" is a bit odd, with the main room being part of the hostesses house. The pictures of the beautiful kitchen that I saw in the listing was very misleading, as the kitchen is 100% hands off, guests are not allowed to touch it. "The place is full of gnats and mosquitoes, I have got bitten all over my body, there is not Air conditioner so we have to leave the windows open for air circulation. They won’t even have drinking water facilities. When told about the lizards and gnats in the room, got a reply that lizards are lucky to have in the room. There were ants and roaches as well in the rooms. Had a very rough night in Big island retreat. Even the pictures are different from what they show. I was difficult to get to the...

"We took the ocean view room, waking up to the views and natural white noise through the night gave us the much needed disconnect from our busy lives. The staff were friendly and breakfast was great (lots of fruits and homemade stuff). Would definitely recommend."

"Beautiful resort but still needs a lot of maintenance. The most frustrating part was paying the resort fee and parking fee, but watching many local residents use the facilities freely. The family pool was overcrowded with residents, not guests. The pools were supposed to close at 10PM, but on our evening walks we saw a lot of inappropriate behavior in the pools. Wondering how the facility is monitored, because it didn’t seem like there was any rule enforcement."
