Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel
6/10 Okay
"The facilities are in desperate need for a major renovation. Everything in the rooms are so old that even if housekeeping cleans them daily, a dirty feeling lingers particularly in the bathtubs and sinks. The room I was initially given had a major noise problem possibly due to bad plumbing. The second room was not as noisy, however it did not have hot water early in the morning. Housekeeping was not very efficient. When I moved to the second room, the towels from the previous guest were still hanging over the bathtub and even though I made several requests for the bathroom to be cleaned, nobody came to clean it. Thankfully, the concierge was able to get someone to clean the room when I went out for dinner. The staff member who initially checked me in was very rude to say the least (doesn't even deserve a single star). However, the concierge and the person who changed my room were exceptionally helpful and kind (they went above and beyond to assist me, I would give them more than 5 stars) - so I have mixed feelings about the staff. I should also note that the hotel does not offer a free luggage storage space after check-out. Be prepared to pay 6USD for each piece of luggage to be stored in the luggage room after check-out. Make sure to ask for the amenities provided in exchange for the destination fee (free bike rental, Guggenheim tickets, 35USD credit per day at the hotel restaurants/bars). If it wasn't for the amazing concierge I wouldn't be aware of these amenities."

"No room service and very limited food options at the hotel.
When we checked in we had a room with wet floors, they did move us and gave us a credit to fix it. That was nice and appropriate."

"This was the second time we stayed at Hotel Arlo when visiting NYC and the stay was as good as our first experience.
Everyone is super friendly and helpful and they and the asthetics of the hotel all provide a great base for a stay in the CDity."

PUBLIC, an Ian Schrager hotel

"The hotel is beautiful, however not very functional unless you are a solo traveler. The bathroom is a small glass box that you can hear/see everything through, which is not ideal when someone else is in the room. The shower floods across the whole bathroom floor because there is no door separating the shower and toilet, so you will be standing in a puddle when using the restroom unless you dry it up.
Also extremely disappointed in the actual check in process. We arrived earlier in the day and inquired about early check in, to which the staff at the desk said the room was not ready yet but that they would place us on a “priority list” and give us a call when it was ready. So we stored our luggage and went to kill some time. We arrived back at 3pm, the original check in time, and were told that our room just needed to be ‘inspected’. So we sat in the lobby and waited for almost two hours for our room to be ready, until we couldn’t anymore as we had a reservation. I asked the front desk if there was an ETA on the room and they said they could not provide one, but they would call and email me once the room was available. So we stored our luggage again and left. We did not receive a call or email at all letting us know our room was ready. We were finally able to check in around 9pm when we got back to the hotel. Not being able to provide early chen in is understandable, but to promise a 3pm check in and not be able to provide a r"
