"We had a very disappointing stay. The hotel did not feel safe at all, and the overall condition of the property was poor. The room was dirty and clearly had not been properly cleaned. The building is very old, outdated, and feels more like a neglected motel than a hotel. We were uncomfortable throughout our stay and did not feel secure. The breakfast was very limited and below expectations. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again and would not recommend this property to other travelers."

"This was the last stay in a week-long road trip. This hotel was the best we were at. The room was clean, the breakfast was great, and it was obvious that all facets of the hotel have been updated recently. All in all, this is a great hotel that I would definitely stay at again."

"No frills, but the room was updated. Small TV we never used. The air conditioner looked new and worked well. Beds were comfy and the bathroom clean. Used the refrigerator and small microwave. Picked up some breakfast sandwiches and yogurt at the Walmart near by. The outdoor pool looked nice and fairly large, although we didn't use it. We were gone all day but stayed for 3 nights. All in all, a great value for a nice room to spend each night. Owners maintain the property well. Would...

"Check in was difficult, couldn't check in until after 3:30, and even then I had to wait 20 minutes for the manager (?) To check me in. The room was barren, but it did have a real kitchen, with a full size fridge, a full size stove (barely usable) and even a dishwasher!! It did not, however have a microwave. It did not have any pots, pans, or dishes. There were several strainers. I thought that was odd. There was no table or light by the full size bed. There was only 2 ceiling lights...

"The room was spacious however the hotel feels like you went back in time to the 1970s. There were holes in the curtains and lampshades. There were water stains on the ceiling. We asked for towels and were told we had to come downstairs to get it because front counter person is also one who gives you towels."

"Whenever I'm traveling thru Southern CT on business, the Lamplighter is my go to for staying over. Clean room. Comfortable bed, plenty of Hot Water, microwave and mini fridge, good TV. Reasonable price, close to the highway. Restaurants within walking distance. It has it all."
