"This could be a beautiful historic property with the right ownership, but it is clear that the current owners do not care for the property at all. Front fountain is broken and full of gross pond water, sign is dingy and cracked, elevators filthy and in disrepair. Front lobby looks beautiful (otherwise I would not have even checked in) but the rest of the property is really dumpy. Our balcony room was a joke - the balconies are filthy and the outdoor furniture is circa 1970s and not in good shape. Ledges between the rooms were full of cigarette butts and trash, screen on our neighbors balcony was hanging off our entire stay. Bathroom was tiny and awkward, plumbing was shoddy - hot water was slow, toilets slow to flush and easily clogged. Minerva’s on site could be cute but the servers and bartenders were more interested in doing side work than serving, clearing, or making drinks.
Only positive to note is an excellent location - walking distance to beach and the shops and restaurants on Front Street."
