"I would recommend this hotel we had a lovely visit the staff are very friendly, the location is brilliant, the cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and served at the table which is so much nicer. The only thing was the lift had broken down so we had to climb lots of flights of stairs, as long as the lift is repaired we would definitely come back. Thanks we had a great stay."

"The Waterwheel Inn was exceptional. We had a garden suite which opened straight out onto the amazing gardens and a small double room. Both were decorated nicely and kept clean. Breakfast was served in the lovely conservatory and was excellent with good choices and nice touches like home-made jams and granola. We ate in the restaurant for dinner several times and had great food every time. Staff were helpful whilst being unobtrusive. Our only suggestion is to advertise the vegan options better as they catered really well for vegans but it was on request rather than being clear on menus."

"Excellent hotel about 10-15 walk from city centre. Very spacious room. Historic building with a former chapel at the front entrance. I can imagine it makes a great wedding venue."
Hotel VARA

"Hotel VARA is a really nicely renovated hotel. The staff were lovely and helpful and accommodated our very late check-in with no problem. We also ate dinner there, and the food was pretty nice for hotel food. They also provided a bottle of chilled water, which tasted delicious after coming from London. As other people have mentioned, it's not the most mobility-friendly place to stay. We ended up with a room with a bath only and no shower stand for the shower head. The hotel is also a up a hill, so if you are coming from the station, it's a bit of a climb. However, it's only 10 min into town and about 15 to the station since it's downhill."
