"The Luana Waikiki is a pretty mid range hotel in Waikiki a little off the beaten path. It is a lesser known hotel than some of the other ones but manages to keep some of the old Hawaiian charm without sacrificing comfort and modern amenities. What I really love are the kitchens in the rooms because they are fully equipped just like an apartment or small condo with toaster oven and blender etc so you can do your own cooking, non microwave reheating and feel like you are at home."

"Parking was a little tricky. Tight garage turns, better for a compact car. 2 out of 3 elevators working. Busy check in times meant longer waits for elevator. Overall it was comfortable, clean. And the staff were very polite "

"The shops were very convenient and nice. The food was excellent. However… the crowds are big, and the beaches were littered with homeless tents. Homeless men were screaming at the top of their lungs. Walking by their encampments was bad, the stench of human filth was unsettling. Walking on the beach at night was sketchy. I loved Hawaii. I did not like the Hawaiian Village. Waiting for en elevator every day took ten minutes because the lines were long. I was traveling solo. I needed to feel safe."

"This hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The facilities included a laundry room for guests. The area is safe and the local bus stops right outside the hotel. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant but there many options near by."

"It was a great jumping off point to explore Honolulu using buses and other. Plus other things like stores, restaurants etc were close by after a day of exploring. We enjoyed it a lot."
