"We absolutely loved Riu Guanacaste. We travelled March 28 - April 4 2026. 4 adults and 1 child. The resort was very clean everywhere you went - there was always staff cleaning the bathrooms, floors, restaurants. Pools were clean. The resort is fully updated and beautiful. We mostly ate at the buffet for ease - the food at the buffet was always hot, great selection, constantly restocked and rotated. Despite going during a very busy week at the hotel, they really know how to handle the crowd/that capacity. There were always loungers; there were always tables at the buffet to eat at; bartenders were relatively fast. The staff were always so kind and welcoming. Our favourite waiter at Liberia buffet was ROBINSON - he was attentive and so hard working - so great at his job and we appreciated it so much. Our 4 year old loved all the wild life and the water park. Beautiful, clean, safe beach! We also booked some excursions with Tours by Alan on the beach and had an amazing experience on both excursions. Highly recommend! We will be back Costa Rica! "

"The Hotel is great, nice view, wonderful pool, great locations , rooms are a little bit dated though but staff is amazingly professional and courteous , Oscar at the pool bar a wonderful bar tender, as well as Leonel at the front desk and Jairo at the travel desk with the activities and adventures , all staff in general were super friendly and efficient , Had an amazing 4 days stay, Thank you all ! I highly recommend this hotel ! "

"Absolutely loved our stay here! Staff are beyond kind. Property is beautiful and natural. Rooms are large and contain everything you need. Samara is beautiful and offers a wide range of activities to do off the resort. Such as side by side rides, horseback riding, day excursions, scuba diving, and lots more! We planned a lot of them at the excursion desk upfront with Luis, he was wonderful. At the front desk of the hotel Diego, Donovan and Josue always were there to help with any and everything. Food was always great, Kenneth,Burner,Donny and Alonso were always there to help at the chill and grill and other restaurants. The spa is a must visit, I had a deep tissue massage from Celenie and it was much needed after scuba diving (use Samara dive school and meet 5 minutes down the beach!) the gift shop on site is so convenient, even offering shipping for coffee and chocolate, this was Josie, Eli, Maikol, and Marco to thank for that and also recommending all the best local snacks.10/10 resort "

"Great resort for families. Beach was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Pool was perfect for my kids, with three different shallow areas where they could play. The resort yacht tour was amazing and easily a highlight of the stay. We did the morning snorkel to Honeymoon Beach and it felt like a private tour. Easily accessible to see wildlife in nearby places. "
