"Even though the hotel was kind of outdated ( most hotels in Mackinaw City are) the room was clean and served all of our needs. We had a first floor room with a lake view and just steps out to the beach. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were courteous and friendly. There was a free breakfast with plenty to offer but it was the same hot items everyday. They need to change it up a little."

"We were allowed to check in 1.5 hours early; which was above/beyond expectations. Room was very large, roomy w/ nice view of lake, beach and bridge from the balcony. Room smelled clean until we turned up heat, probably for 1st time, was fine afterwards. Heater and room was very quiet. My wife found a dirty wall and dresser top where she needed to place some of her night things. When she wiped the surfaces the washcloth was very dirty. Carpet had a big stain between the beds. Office Manager and Staff were very quick and prompt to come in and clean again before we accepted the room. Pool and hot tub were large, clean and good temps. Breakfast was actually above average with nearly everything you'd expect from a continental breakfast plus hot eggs and slices of ham. Large seating area as well. We'd stay again"

"The Staff waa rop shelf...they even gave us a free upgrade after we shared that we were newlyweds. We decided to stay an additional night it was so comfortable and lovely. Though we had to check out of the room to another accommodation for price, it was just as comfortable and lovely with a balcony overlooking Lake Huron. It was an enjoyable and memorable stay. Thank you!"

"This is the second time I have stayed at Crooked River Lodge. This establishment offers a lot of activities for guest to do. The grounds has kayaks , row boat, and bikes that you can use. They also have a dock that you could park your own water craft. During the winter they offer snow shoes to use. The game room is amazing. The rooms are very clean with a refrigerator to use. It also is very large with great views. The fire is also nice to sit by with your favorite cocktail. Did I mention they offer iced spring water, different flavors of tea, iced tea “which is amazing”, coffee, and hot chocolate I definitely suggest staying here."

"This is an older Inn but well maintained, clean, and very historically built with many architectural features. The rooms do not have a television but there is a very nice lounge on the second floor with a large screen TV. The bead was antique but the mattress and pillows very comfortable. There is a restaurant and small bar and restaurant with a nice view of the lake. We like staying in non chain hotels as they seem more personal and have a local vibe. The only negative was the rooms in front are near a busy road and you will have traffic noise. Overall we would stay again and recommend."
