There is a small store about a mile away. We went to bed early and were so surprised that 4 other couples were there for breakfast. Breakfast was a “typical” and very good. "

"We flew in to San Jose around 12pm. We headed out of town towards La Fortuna. I thought this would get us out of the city and close to our first day of activities. The area was quiet. The room was very clean. We speak very little Spanish and the staff spoke very little English. However we were able to communicate to get what we needed. The hotel is one block from the Main Street. We found the supermarket with ease. The breakfast was wonderful. Fresh fruit with a large breakfast of beans...

"The property seems quite old and could benefit from some updates. The bed sheets did not feel very clean, and the blanket was shedding material, which made it uncomfortable to use. There was also no bedside table in the room, which would have been helpful. With better maintenance and attention to these details, the stay could be improved."

"The couple who owns the place was very nice, accommodating and friendly. You have to pay attention when you first arrive, as the area is not marked very well. the beds were very comfortable and the view from the balcony was perfect. "

"This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. "Staff met you at the front, Spanish-speaking only but super nice. The room was fantastic when we stayed. It was a little bit colder so there was a space heater. There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. The only downside was the lack of hot water in the shower. We only stayed for one night so it really didn’t bother us that much but if we were saying multiple nights that would’ve been an...
