"Rooms clean, beds comfortable. Our room faced the street, very loud street noise during the night. Frequent door slamming and could hear conversation. We have stayed here several times and never had problems."

"The property was clean. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was very good with variety options. The front desk staff was very helpful and inviting."

"We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7 young girls came for a birthday party. The echo and noise aggravated tinnitus in a dad in our party and he had to leave immediately. Our girls also said the pool was very cold so heat would be nice, even in May. We didn't love the sliding bathroom door that didn't lock and the hotel lobby reeked of fried food nearly 24 hours a day. You couldn't be there for more than 30 seconds without smelling like it. The smell was also up in our room on the second floor so we wished we had a higher floor. Their kitchen needs much better external ventilation. All in all a good stay, but with some minor complaints."
