Great place. Quiet location

Awesome stay. Beautiful clean and modern place, right on the beach. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Food was really good. They even come in early to make breakfast for you if you have to leave early to go diving. This was our second time staying there and we would go back again.

Just beautiful

Fantastic location with beautiful rooms. You can snorkel off the reef and see turtles and octopus. The staff were very friendly and the food excellent. Very close to massage parlours and shops. I would recommend hiring a scooter to get around.

What a little gem of a resort! It’s important to know that almost everything on the island takes 30-45 minutes to get to because of the roads, not because of distance so slow down and convert yourself to island pace. We stayed for two nights and were charmed from the minute we arrived! The resort is immaculate and so quaint, and has the absolute best staff. They can arrange in room massages (DO THAT, trust me!) and private island tours to hit all of the notable beach spots. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the food was quite good! There’s a great beach steps from your room, with a little bit of a reef for snorkeling. We would absolutely come back here should we return to Nusa Penida!

Brand new hotel! We stayed for 3 nights with my niece while enjoying Nusa Penida. The hotel is right on the beach with great views of Mt Agung and sunset. Rooms are neat, big and kept very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

An absolute gem of a hotel, really lovely!

We had an amazing stay at The Sankara, everything was just superb! Spacious, very clean and modern room, super comfy bed and huge bathroom. The pool and gardens are absolutely gorgeous and the beach at the front was good for snorkeling. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and attentive. Breakfast provided was plentiful. There are some really cool restaurants nearby, a bit dark to walk along the road but very do-able. We hired a scooter to make it easier to get around.

We had a fabulous stay at Sankara. The resort is very new and clean. The bed was comfortable and the view from our rooms was just wow! The resort is located directly at the beach which was also very clean! The service team was also always friendly and helpful with all our questions. All in all we had a great stay here and would definitely recommend to book here! We hope to come back again one day!

Wonderful stay. Staff very sweet & helpful.

Overall stay was wonderful. This was a last minute booking for us. Food and drinks were great. Rooms and service wonderful. View and pools awesome. Love that the beach was right there. Biggest issue was that they allow smoking in the common/ shared areas, like the restaurant which was gross having to inhale those second hand fumes while trying to enjoy our meal.

Nice place to stay by the beach (and chill!)

The hotel is gorgeous! Right on the beach and fairly close to the harbour. Breakfasts are generous (and delicious), but if you want to have lunch or dinner, I’d recommend going to any of the beach clubs for better food at more reasonable prices (a short 10 min walk on the side of the road, which is very narrow with no sidewalks). Not close to the main attractions but front desk will happily help book a taxi or driver. AC was amazing!!! Pool was very comfortable!

The Sankara Beach Resort was the nicest beachfront property that I saw in Nusa Penida, and I was so glad I booked here. The staff were SO kind and thoughtful (Ulan, Mei, and Diah, thank you!). They even surprised me by decorating my villa for my birthday, bringing me a cake, and singing “Happy Birthday” to ms. The complementary breakfast was delicious and plenteous, and it was wonderful to eat on the veranda overlooking the beach and ocean. I enjoyed the deep soaking tub and the daily resupply of bath crystals and bubble bath. Plenty of hot water, also. I appreciated the USB outlets on the bedside table - it made charging my electronics convenient. It was also nice to have a smart tv with Netflix and Amazon Prime shows. A convenience store and ATM are within walking distance. Snorkeling in the coral just off the resort beach was wonderful. I enjoyed my stay here so much, and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful birthday and stay!

The hotel is brand new but there are a lot of things that haven’t been finished. The property is clean and tidy but there are piles of trash on the road to the hotel. The food was very average and service was poor. It’s a solid 3 star hotel not 4. Pool is clean and well maintained.

When considering this hotel, do keep in mind that it is a 3 star motel. It’s opened fairly recently and they are still figuring their stuff out. Many amenities are not yet available (spa, laundry) and they will likely keep building out the property. Don’t expect an automatic 5-star service but the staff aims to please and is always available to cater to your needs in creative ways. No Landry but they will take your stuff to a nearby Landry place, no spa but they can call in a masseuse, forgot to replace towels? They will bring your fresh ones later. A pack of wild dogs stole your shoes? They will go to the dump next door to get it for you. Don’t worry about the dogs, there is 7 of them and they are very friendly. 5 new puppies are adorable and hardly ever bite tourists at least we didnt see anyone get bitten. Oh the best part, the best snorkeling location is 10 meters into the water in front of the hotel. Don’t bother paying to go anywhere else. The area right in front of the bar by the second pool is where you will find a huge rock with rare fish hiding under it.

I chose this hotel for the Snorkeling off the beach and was not disappointed. Wonderful coral and fish. Clear sea. Saw turtle one day. And all for free. Lots of snorkel tours and dive tours go to this spot so it really is good. Sometimes the current is strong but other times not. Small stretch of beach is clean and picturesque. View from hotel is lovely especially early in the morning and at sunset. Hotel is small so even when full it’s quiet. Rooms are lovely. 2 pools very nice. Staff fantastic. Grounds are very well cared for and pretty. Pool bar very good. But some negatives. Food is terrible. Both Indonesian and western food is bad. Also very hard to enjoy food with so many flies. Neighbouring restaurant doesn’t have flies so this hotel restaurant has an issue it needs to solve. Also they hardly ever change your towels. Even if you have a dirty towel and throw it on the floor to indicate it needs to be changed they just pick it up and fold it and leave it for you. When it’s raining beach towels don’t dry well but they don’t think to replace them. Staff are very nice so I am sure they would give you clean towels if you asked but weird that they hang up dirty wet towels for reuse. You can walk to other local restaurants and tour places but the road is dangerous. Also would like more drinking water. They leave 1.5L for 2 people per day and you have to pay for extra. Having said all that - I would definitely stay again for views, atmosphere, Snorkeling, pool, pool bar

Das Resort befindet sich in einer ruhigen Gegend direkt am Meer. Schnorcheln kann man direkt vom Strand aus. Die Zimmer sind gross und mit bequemen Betten ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und ausgezeichnet. Wir wurden vom Personal wie Familienmitglieder behandelt, denen wir von ganzem Herzen dafür danken, dass sie unseren Urlaub unvergesslich gemacht haben. Außerdem kann man direkt an der Rezeption zu angemessenen Preisen Taxis, Inseltouren mit privatem Fahrer und Ausflüge buchen. Auch unser Transfers vom und zum Flughafen in Bali wurden perfekt organisiert. Terima kasih!

Mein Aufenthalt im Sankara Resort Nusa Penida war einfach nur schön. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht, insgesamt ist es sauber, nur könnten die Sofas etwas mehr gepflegt werden. Die Zimmer waren wunderschön, der Strand traumhaft. Frühstück war mega, wircklich zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön, wir hatten eine Suite, alles aus Naturmaterialien, gute Kosmetikartikel im Zimmer. Das Essen war auch gut. Insgesamt ist der Preis teuer aber das Resort ist dafür speziell... Ich würde es empfehlen

Hadde et fantastisk opphold på Sankara! Det er like fint som på bildene. Flott sted å slappe av. Stort levende korallrev rett utenfor! Vi koste oss masse og kommer gjerne tilbake!
