Comfortable and good food with quick service. Plenty of sockets in the room, in useful places, which is great when travelling for business and having work to do. There wasn't a desk as it was a small single room, but there was a socket, with USB charger on the wall by the bed and a cushion to use, so working sitting on the bed was comfortable and convenient.
Lovely, friendly, welcoming staff, better and cheaper than other/previous accommodation on my Settle to Carlisle Way hike.
Wholeheartedly recommend it to others 👌
A nice small hotel in a quiet village.
We received a warm welcome and had a fine evening meal. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast are good.
An enjoyable overnight stopover in a well managed hotel
Our room was a bit small but fine for a one-night stay. Shared bathroom but not problematic. Good pint in the bar. Very good breakfast - superb black pudding!
Lovely quiet break for our 40th Anniversary. The hotel was superb, nicely appointed room with views over the village green. The highlight however was the superb food, a deceptively simple menu made with quality fresh local ingredients and executed with flair and panache. Even the side salads were exceptional !!! Our hosts were very welcoming, attentive without being intrusive and their wee gem of an establishment well worth a visit either staying or for a lovely meal or preferably both.
Beautiful location. Greeted by friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. So incredibly helpful.
Room was perfect. Very comfortable. Breakfast was a Full-Cooked and was delicious. Extremely large portions. Would highly recommend this little gem. Excellent value for money.
Very good, exceptional staff, very friendly and attentive, very large meals, well cooked, overall pleasant stay in a very old building with quirky features.
We had a friendly welcome on our arrival. All the staff were keen to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Superb evening meal and a good breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean.
Perfect overnight stay on our way to Scotland. Friendly and welcoming. Really comfortable bed although every time you move it squeaked! Despite that slept well. Dinner and breakfast were made with quality ingredients, nicely presented, cooked well and very tasty. Staying here on our way back home and looking forward to it.
An excellent stopover on our trip from a Bristol to NW Scotland . Proper English food served in generous quantities. Well kept excellent beers Helpful, friendly and efficient staff
