"The hotel is dated & needs a revamp. The first room was old, musty & tired. Water marks on the walls, very tired bathroom & poor fittings. The 2nd room was an improvement on the first although dated. Staff were friendly & amenable. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful but lacked variety. Pool area was clean & safe, although hogging of sunbeds started early 0600! Overall was a satisfactory stay however there are better value hotels along the same stretch of road. "

"We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday with a pool and view and good service. This hotel didn’t disappoint us. There are only six rooms so the service was personal and exceptional. The hotel is located at the quieter end of the Hikkadawa stretch of beach which suited us. The livelier bars and hotels were only a short walk away too. There are buses every five minutes just outside that took us to the Tsunami museum one day and Galle Fort another for about 50p each, each way. Great fun and...

"The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. "

"Neevana is a modern, very comfortable hotel close to the centre of Hikkaduwa. The rooms are well appointed and those at the front have the most amazing view of the sea. The hotel restaurant serves tasty, carefully prepared food. We found the "Big Breakfast" to be particularly enjoyable, and our waiter, Anton, was always on hand to attend to our every need.
