6. Cappuccina Country Resort

San Gimignano

"The hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views. It’s a 30 minute walk into San Gimignano. A taxi, IF you can get one costs €30 during the day and €60 after 8. It would be great if the hotel offered a shuttle service but it doesn’t. The hotel is part way through a refurbishment, some rooms are still to be upgraded. Our room had a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. The Spa is only one in the afternoon. Front desk staff were very good, restaurant staff less so. The restaurant is...

7. La Collegiata

San Gimignano

"This is an absolutely stunning property. The restaurant and bar prices are high considering the already high price tag to stay here. There is a lack of staff and the rooms could use a good dusting (we stayed in 2 rooms and thought this could be said about both). The breakfast had a lovely selection and the waitress serving coffee was very friendly. The pool is beautiful but very cold, and it can be difficult to sit outside due to the mosquitoes. We enjoyed our 3 night stay but would not...

"We cannot say enough good things about this hotel because everything exceeded our expectations. They truly embody the art of hospitality. The owners referred to us by name which made it feel very personal and intimate. The decor in the rooms is artistic. The breakfast offerings were varied ranging from delicious coffee, quiches, a range of pastries to yogurt and all the toppings. They even helped with luggage upon arrival and departure. This is a true gem!,"

"This was truly one of my best travel experiences. The attention to detail from every staff member and from the owners and the friendly hospitality make you feel relaxed and comfortable from the minute you step onto the property. The views are breathtaking. We visited other argiriturismos which were beautiful but the views and character at Il Segreto were unmatched in our opinion. We ate dinner on property every night and looked forward to it each day. We loved the changing multi-course menu and...

"Fab, fab, fab. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and at home. The accommodation was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious and every meal was a highlight of our visit. What made the experience truly memorable, however was their kindness, warmth and hospitality. Itr was a pleasure to spend time with such friendly and generous people. Staying here was one of the highlights of our time in San Gimignano and we left with many happy memories. Thank you for the care and...
