"The hotel is only about a year old so the building and all the fittings and furniture are in as-new condition. The staff were all cheerful and a delight to work with. The food was good both breakfast and the evening meals. The location right on the foreshore is attractive with lovely views of the sunrise but it is well away from the centre of Torquay. When I arrived Google maps had the location 300 metres too close to the main part of Torquay so you need to check this before setting a route."

The location close to the seafront, the pier, the harbour, the parks, pubs, restaurants, souvenir shops, steam railway, train and bus station made it the perfect place to stay for a seaside holiday. I only ordered the breakfast, not evening meals, the dining room was nice and the food was very good. I recommend it."

"We are regular visitors to the Grand, and after a dip around a year ago, are pleased to say the breakfasts are back as good as ever. Our room had been recently decorated and with the exception of loose shelf in the bathroom was in a great condition."

"It was a lovely property very close to the beach and Paignton 10 minute walk into centre. It was on a busy road which was a bit noisy at night but with the windows closed it was fine. We were provided with a fan which kept us really cool. I would recommend this place. I think it’s really nice for a breakaway owners were really helpful nice breakfast all you could ask for🙂 a big smile"

"Very basic. Fine for a 1 night stay but about a 30 minute walk from the harbour and not much in the surrounding area other than nice views. It did a job but I wouldn't stay here longer than just 1 night when passing through."

"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."
