"The rooms were very comfortable (best sleep we had on our trip to Costa Rica) and we loved the pool, the beach, the sunsets, and the star gazing at night. We were there with our family. It is a bit remote so good idea to bring games and snacks if traveling with kids. The restaurant on the premise is expensive but serves creative dishes by a Michelin star chef using local ingredients."

"Hermoso lugar, personal muy amable, excelente trato y servicio, el restaurante muy bueno. La playa no es linda ni apta para bañarse por las fuertes corrientes, arena negra y agua oscura. Deberian poner mejores indicaciones despues del primer rotulo de la entrada, me perdi dos veces para llegar a recepcion. Los aromatizantes que tienen en las habitaciones son muy fuertes, de mal gusto y deberian ser opcionales si el cliente los enciende."

The owners are everyday people willing to help you out with everything they made the stay so enjoyable. "We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. "

The grounds were beautiful but the pool was often dirty and needs to be repaired. The food was excellent but very expensive. We stayed in a bungalow that was very small but comfortable for 2 adults and one child. Overall it was a nice stay. "
