"Great location and host"

"Everything was clean and breakfast was an added bonus. The only complaints I would have are the pool umbrellas are broken and you had to rig them to get them to stay open. Also at breakfast after the first day we decided to take ours back to our room because one of the workers was very rude to guests when talking to them and a lady in the office was talking crazy to someone on the phone with the door open. Other then this we were pleased."

"I was skeptical, as it’s a “motel”. But AMAZING! Quiet, newly renovated, clean, easy. Has all you need for a stay. Does not have any on site meal items, but food and food stores are only a 2 block walk. Very well maintained property. I would absolutely stay again!"

"We initially had a room on level 2, the room wasnt clean, it was dark and pretty much nasty, nothing like the pictures. We went to the reception and the lady nicely upgraded us on level 5. by being on the level 5, everything was ok but hotel is really a 3 stars. Amenties, pool and beach are very nice. Valet service as well very professionnal. Restaurant food is ok but cafe is very good on the lobby floor."

"Breakfast ok. Eggs didnt taste like real eggs though. Room has several issues needing fixed and they did. Not much to do around hotel. Beach ok. Not the greatest I've been to. Worst was checkout when i was told i owed 297.99, for "destination fee daily" which i had Not known anything about it. 35.00 plus 2 different taxes each day i was there. Very disappointed in this not being a big notice on my booking as i never would have stayed there."

"La Costa Beach Club Resort exceeded every expectation. The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning; waking up to the ocean each morning felt unreal. The room was pristine, the amenities were fantastic, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, which made the stay even more comfortable. The front desk staff was welcoming and attentive throughout the entire trip, and the pools were divine, spotless, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. The location itself is incredible....

"Hotel needs to be updated. Clean in common areas. We were large group with 5 bedrooms and all the bathrooms need updating. Tubs with paint patches. Didn’t care for the breakfast boxes included. Some staff very nice and helpful other not at all. "

"This was the second time we've stayed at the Surfsider. The first time was five years ago, in May 2021. Miss Sam took good care of us both times. Camilo & Cinnamon were very accommodating, too. Cinnamon even printed out a map to the Cuban restaurant we were trying out for the first time. This place is a hidden gem. My only complaint was the hot water in the second bathroom wasn't working when I showered but my husband was also showering in the master bath so that probably accounts for it. Other...

"Wish I could’ve stayed longer - was a unique experience compared to a standard hotel,’room was very nice and most importantly it felt less sketchy then if you paid a similar price for another hotel/motel. Very affordable for a nice comfortable spot. "

"Two comments: 1- About the room, it was very comfortable and quiet during the night. Just one recommendation to keep improving.
