Loved my stay at great huts. Totally unique rooms, quiet property with detail to art and history throughout … beautiful cliffside views and chirping crickets at night made this stay feel relaxing . Don’t have to leave the property if you don’t want to , there’s a bar and staff will tend to your needs. The on-site restaurant is decent , but I wouldn’t suggest it if you’re hoping for authentic Jamaican food. I would stay again!

Unfortunately there was a power outage when we arrived. Tanya was fantastic and made sure to find alternative suitable accommodation for us. I would recommend the hotel for location and price and staff friendliness and would return in the future

Always a great place to stay. The staff was friendly and the resort is eclectic and filled with African Art. My children really loved the infinity pool with the view and the beach area. We love that the Queen of Sheba as it has so much space to easily accommodate a big group. The property is quiet and peaceful. You definitely need to be fit to be able to move around the property. I would definitely recommend for families with children, etc. this is our 2nd time residing here and it has always been great experience

A Unique experience. For me who enjoys comfortable surroundings I could only stay here for 2 nights max. Depending on which type of accommodation you stay in, we stayed in the Queen of Sheba family hut. Very spacious, alot fun but rustic. The main reason for visiting this property is for the location andbreathtaking views. The cliffs and sea are beyond beautuful, an experience worth every penny. Staff are non exsistent but friendly enough when you do encounter them. It was a weekday stay maybe they are more present on the weekends.

Great Huts is now my favorite place to stay in my favorite parish, Portland. It was the most unique experience. A lot of thought placed in blending the manmade with the natural. Views from the cliffs are a feast for the eyes. Very helpful and friendly staff. Special recognition to Chef Sammy!

My family and I spent one night over our 4 day adventure in Portland. Our first time experiencing an eco-tourism type of accommodation. It was amazing. We stayed in the Fig Tree hut and all I can say is it is the best room of the house. They are undergoing some renovation but no disruption to our stay. The front desk staff, Tania was pleasant and accommodating with a late checkout. She even took it upon herself to verify if we wanted to place a dinner order to the kitchen prior to closure. We would visit again.

An Amazing place to stay if you love Nature....we did! The staff was so friendly and the HUTS were decorated in the most unusual way. Close proximity to beaches and food venues.

More Than a Hotel—A True Jamaican Experience Great Huts is not just a hotel—it is an experience. The property stretches from the cliffs down to the beach, with winding paths through sea grape trees, coral rock, African-inspired art, treehouses, hidden sitting areas, and incredible views of the Caribbean. Everywhere you look feels like a postcard. We stayed in a treehouse and absolutely loved it. The room was unique, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. At night, the property became even more magical with warm lighting, ocean sounds, and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was one of the best parts of our stay. Everyone was kind, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable. The food was also delicious, especially breakfast, and the dining area has so much character. Great Huts also helped arrange transportation and local experiences, including our Rio Grande rafting trip. They connected us with trusted people who took excellent care of us from beginning to end. This is not a typical polished resort with identical rooms and concrete hallways. It is rustic, artistic, cultural, and built into the natural landscape. That is exactly what makes it special. We had a tremendous stay and would absolutely return. Great Huts became one of the highlights of our entire Jamaica trip.

I get it that this property is a sustainable eco resort. But that said, there were some design and layout aspects of the room (hut) where we stayed that are quite uncomfortable and could even be downright dangerous. We stayed in a 2 level hut. One of the beds was at the lower level, and the bathroom/ toilet is on an open plan across from the bed. So one person would be lying or sitting up in bed and another could be using the toilet, with hardly any partition between them. More dangerous is the situation at night. The lower level bed can be reached only by scrambling over a hard stony slope. The bedroom light and the bathroom light have a single switch, and once you switch off, everything becomes pitch dark at night and you are completely disoriented. The switch is far off from the bed, and once you are on the bed at night and want to get up for any reason (say to go to the toilet), it becomes a downright impossible scenario because you cannot reach the light switch, and you could stumble down on the hard stone slope. One night was enough, I wouldn't stay here again.
