My stay at Ibis Portsmouth was really great although the lift had broken down. This was compensated by the friendly reception staff especially Sike, an African American lady really impressed me on arrival and during my entire stay - not hesitating to ask if everything was fine or suggest what else I could do. She was exceptional, readily available, her professionalism and communication was excellent.
At check in, although there was a queue she made eye contact with me with a welcoming smile, gave a beckoning nod that put me at ease and a gesture that made me realise we were finally in the right place (they didn’t know we had missed our way by going to Ibis budget another hotel). What else would you need on arrival ?
Diego eventually checked us in but quickly gave me the bad news about the lift. This is not thier fault. He explained that spare parts was yet to arrive. We all had to use the stairwell and in fact the guests were really impressed with reception.
Diego and Sike explained the direction to the sea because I really needed to see the ports. The sea port is actually 15 minutes walk.
When I needed to eat, I was directed to the restaurant where I met Julilia who such great sales woman, she suggested chicken wrap and tasty cocktails which turned out to be a really delicious.
I am definitely coming back for more.
Ibis hired some angels who really made me feel at home and enjoyed my vacation.
Thank you Sike, Diego and Julia. You exceeded my expectations
